Studying in France as Americans: Eight Months of Master’s Degrees

Another month in Reims has passed as Jalen and I pursue our master’s degrees at the Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne in Logistics and Public Law. Keep reading for more information about how we spent the month of April!

I’m about halfway into my month-long studying extravaganza before my final exams. Studying so much information definitely feels overwhelming, and although I am more familiar with the final exam formats after having experienced them last semester, I’m still anxious for them to be over.

Jalen‘s internship is well underway and he is very much enjoying it! He loves the work environment, appreciates his colleagues, and learns something new every day. One of his favorite parts of the job is being able to speak multiple languages at work, including French, English, Spanish, German, and Italian.

We have both been reveling in the spring weather here in Reims which has brought sunny, yet cool days perfect for walking around town.

In regards to COVID-19, the French government announced a multi-step reopening plan for the country contingent on the evolution of the pandemic. The first step, which went into effect on May 3rd, was to lift the travel restrictions within France. For now, a 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM curfew remains in place. As always, we are doing our part by wearing masks and washing our hands as often as possible, and we are hopeful that the déconfinement will happen as planned.

We hope you are staying healthy and positive wherever you are in the world. If you have any questions or want to know more, leave us a comment down below!
