Discover Moklair: A New Specialty Coffeeshop in Reims, France
Specialty coffee brand Moklair Torréfacteur, or Moklair Coffee Roasters in English, launched in 2020. Since February 2022, coffee lovers can also enjoy a drink at their brick and mortar café in Reims, France. Jalen and I found Moklair online and were instantly intrigued by both their penchant for sustainability and their unique brand art.
Moklair offers only specialty coffee, meaning their menu is made up of coffees scoring 85 or higher in accordance with the Specialty Coffee Association‘s standards. Even so, the detailed menu and helpful staff allow coffee novices, like us, to find their perfect cup. Located in downtown Reims, Moklair brightens up the otherwise beige street corner with its neon facade. The interior is illuminated by natural light and a selection of cozy seating awaits thirsty customers. The scent of roasted coffee fills the air and eccentric art adorns the walls.
Charity, co-founder of Moklair and Q-Grader, helped us each choose a cup of coffee we’d love. Jalen opted for the Finca Guacobia, a Columbian coffee with notes of dark chocolate, maple syrup, prune, and passion fruit. I went with Flower Power, an Ethiopian coffee with notes of bergamot, lemon, jasmine, and violet. The coffee was simply delicious – no cream or sugar necessary! We were more than impressed with our experience and knew that we’d be back for more after the first sip. If you’re looking for an exceptional coffee experience in the heart of Reims, Moklair won’t disappoint.
